You taught me-
Never to dream
Never to allow myself
The luxury of holding onto their wings
and exploring their world.
"The colours can be blinding;
Too treacherous"- You told me.
You taught me to live here and now.
You drew me two lines-
And said-
" Dreams and Life- they run parallel
and do not intersect.
They are in a race
To know the end first."
I have faith in you,
In your words, My Teacher;
In your immense wisdom,
I have faith in your faith.
Still,
As you lay down to sleep
with the last thought of coherence
about to bid you goodnight
Why do I feel
I caught a fleeting glance of dreams-
Swarming in your eyes;
Or were they mere reflections of my own eyes,
Fighting to fend them off?
good one :)
